Nasir-Arif Hussain Memorial Library
Our newly built
"NASIR-ARIF HUSSAIN MEMORIAL LIBRARY" building was recently inaugurated by the Governor
of Sindh, His Excellency,
Dr. Ishrat-Ul –Ibad in Federal B’ Area, Karachi.
Located in the thickly
populated neighborhood of Federal B’ Area, it is purpose built, three story building..
It includes sizable halls for literary and cultural activities, designated computer-use
areas and an internet café. This facility is designed to cater the needs of the
students and scholars from even a wider neighborhood including but not limited to
Liaquat-a-bad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Nazimabad & North Nazimabad localities. It is estimated that thousands of residents
will benefit from this facility to have access to knowledge resources, both traditional
publications, journals and periodicals as well as to the electronic libraries around
the world through thirty personal computers connected through a high speed World
Wide Web.
We are now in processes
of furnishing the library premises. Necessary furniture, personal computers and
other equipment including the computers for the Internet Café have already been
ordered. We are expecting that the Library will be fully furnished and equipped
and opened for the public use by the end of September 2010.
It is now our Endeavour to procure valuable books that will benefit the library
visitors. With our limited resources,
we are able to purchase only a smaller quantity and look forward for financial support
from philanthropists to come forward to our support and help us procure more valuable
books, informative and research material and other reading materials that can be
made available to the users of this Public Library.
We are requesting
public to offer your whole hearted support to this noble cause of providing means
of education to the society. People
can donate books, give cash or pay for the list of the books that has been selected
by our management team.
We also need the educational and reference material that may
help the researchers. Contribution from public will be highly appreciated.
